Cooking

There are many ways to describe cooking. You can say cooking is fun, challenging, easy, experimental, it's a chore or it's boring. I think it's fun, sometimes challenging, and very experimental. I can say this because I cook. I cook many things but no, I am not going to list them all because that would be boring for me to type and boring for you to read.

I like to try new things. All of my family does. My Mom tries A LOT of cooking recipes. She goes to a website called "The daring Kitchen" every month that website posts a blog on their website. It's always something thats kind off hard to make like sushi, souffle, baguette, Pate, and apple butter. Something like that.

And all that food I listed is AWESOME. This Christmas, like all of them, we made treats. We made Christmas cookies, ginger cookies, and meringues. They are soooo good. Also last night my Mom had a small party. She and I made alot of stuff like wassail, (it's a hot spice Christmas punch) and canapes ( there like little bit sized squares that has cream cheese and a lot of other stuff).

I am going to make this short and sweet. I love to cook!

Drum set!

Hey everybody
Guess what?
I GOT MY OWN ELECTRIC DRUM SET! YAY!
I got it on Monday ( I was too excited to post a blog yesterday or on Monday sorry).
So I just got home from a homeschooling program called S.H.E.P that me and my sister go to.
When I arrived home I was about to close up my chickens but my Mom said I couldn't until I came inside.
And when I came in....
I GOT MY DRUM SET!
Sorry I'm yelling a lot.

My parents got it at Costco (that place has everything)
I'm soooo happy.
My teacher said I will learn stuff twice as fast!
It's also helping my mom a little because on her band practice night the drummer doesn't need to bring his drum set. ( he will be playing on mine)
Well that's all I have to say.
Hope you like this post.

Christmas

Is it too early to be talking about Christmas? Well I'm going to anyway. Christmas is coming, there's no stopping it and why would I want to? Last year I was dying for Christmas to arrive because that year I went to Alabama for it but we won't talk about that. But I want to tell you last year everyone on my mom's side went to Alabama for Christmas and New years.

We did something a little different. What we did is everyone would put their name in a hat and then would draw a name and the name they got they would give a present to that person and no one else (But they would give stuff to siblings and parents) . Last year I drew the name of my five year old cousin and I got her My little ponies, she loved them. This year well I don't what to say because he might see.... You might be thinking, what we would do with the rest of the money? What we do is we take all the money we would use and give it to charity. I honestly think it's a great idea because we are giving to the people that don't have good homes and might not have homes at all, and are starving and lost their family. And it's really fun thinking who you'll get in the hat.

Winter is almost here!

Hi everyone.
I'm sorry I haven't blogged in a while. I will try to do it more often from now on.
I can't wait for it to be winter! I like spring and fall but now it's all wet, yucky and cold. I'm telling you it's not fun.

So last Sunday in the morning, when I got out of my sleeping bag (I was at a sleepover) I saw that outside it was snowing - and I was really happy! But not all fun things last. It all melted quickly. *Sigh*. Right now when I look outside it's wet and ugly. Well, one of the best things about being cold is that you can sit in front of the TV with some hot cocoa and enjoy. Hope next time it snows it'll last!

Saturday

On Saturday my family and I went to the Museum of Nature. But that's not all we did.In the morning we woke up then a hour later we left our house. First we went to a car repair shop were we picked up my dad. Then my sisters and I had crepes with bananas and chocolate for breakfast at Cora's. And the waiters said one was too small and so they gave us an extra one no charge! When we left a man asked us if we wanted free fudge and I couldn't say no. Later we went to Costco to see what it was like cause my parents have not been there for a while. And then we went to the Museum of Nature where we met up with my Aunt, Uncle and little cousin. At the end we got groceries and then went home. It was an awesome day.

Jackson Jones

I am excited for Saturday. I am going to a book release. Not just any book release that I saw a advertisement for it and know nothing about then go on short notice. No. I am going to a book release that I have read before it was released. It's because I know the writer very very very well. And she gave me a makeshift one that had like one problem and they fixed it. Her name is Jenn Kelly a very kind and lovely lady. The book is called Jackson Jones the tale of a boy an elf and a very stinky fish. I will say this.... IT'S AWESOME! It's adventurous, funny, emotional, cool and has a great meaning a to it. The release and signing are held at the Chapters in Kanata on Saturday at 1:00 and it's open to everyone. I gotta say this book is the best book I've read!

Drumming!

Yesterday I went to music class. It was my second day there. I love drumming!
The place I go is awesome! There are guitars and stuff lined against the walls, a lot of pianos and electronic drums acoustic drums and even bongo drums.

And my teacher is really nice. He said if I'm going to learn how to play a song then it will be one I like and one I choose. He is a great drum player too.
I know a simple drum beat. One that you can play to country music, rock music, pop, almost everything.

I am LOVING playing the drums!

Biking

I have a bike I guess every one does. Well it's not officially mine but its my sister's but it's too small for her so I use it.

So I hardly ever ride it. And I think that's kinda wasting a good bike. I also think I spend a little to much time indoors. We also have a drive way thats 1km long.So I decided to see how many km I can bike in one week. Every day I biked in that week. I started slow then worked my way up. At the end of the days I would mark how many km I did. At the end of the week I counted it all up and in the end there I biked 40km in one week! I was really happy with myself but it wasn't easy.

And maybe some other week I will try walking and see how many km I can do. But I can almost guarantee it will not be 40km!

Church

Yesterday I went to church.
We aren't a very big church yet so we rent places to hold church at.

Most of the time we get up at 7:00 and leave at 7:30. Then when we get there my dad and some other guys set up the sound stuff and get everything up and ready to go. Then my mom and the rest of the band practice. At 10:10 the service starts the adults sing and listen to our pastor.

All the kids 6-11 go to the kids' church and toddlers and babies go to their own classes. The youth have their own spot too. Sometimes on special days we get out our mascot and fun cruiser and have fun by worshiping and enjoying snow cones, popcorn and cotton candy. All in all I think we have a great church!

Maritimes

My mom is a mom, singer, piano player, song writer and the worship leader of my church.

One day she heard about a Christian event soon going on called Oasis and it was held in the Maritimes. Later she had a radio interview and the man that did the interview wanted her to do some musical events in the Maritimes. A lot of my family live around there too. And so my mom and dad said as this year's trip we were going to the Maritimes!

We had so much fun. My mom sang at a few churches and concerts and we got to see my grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles and my great aunts that I haven't seen in four years! And we might be going there next summer to do some more concerts and to see my relatives!

Music

Hi

I play the piano a little, and so do my sisters and my mom. I'm not so good but my mom is awesome at it.

My mom wanted us all to do our own instrument and so one day after a home schooling thing she said, "You guys will be doing music lessons every Tuesday."
I get to play the drums. I am SO excited!

Now I have a practice pad that is a small single drum that you put on a table or your lap and play, and of course I got some drum sticks. But later, in maybe 6 months if I do well I will get a full drum set!I will post it when I get it.

I need to practice hard every day for at least 15 minutes but I know it will be worth it.
